Guide
What does a face really cost?
A headline total cannot tell you what your own care will cost. A written quote, a realistic schedule and a clear stopping point are more useful places to start.

A national average is only a reference
At our October 17, 2026 source check, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons listed average costs of $715 for hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers and $743 for lip augmentation with filler. Those are published national reference figures, not quotes for your face or a particular Scottsdale practice. ASPS says fees vary with the treatment, clinician's qualifications, time involved and location. ASPS filler cost information.
Ask what a quoted price buys. The product, amount, treatment area and clinician may differ between offers. Two identical totals can describe different plans, just as two different totals may include different services.
Get the full first-visit figure
Request a written, itemized quote after assessment. It should tell you the proposed treatment and what is included. Ask about the consultation, treatment itself, numbing, follow-up and any products the practice says are needed afterward. Confirm whether additional treatment at a review would cost extra.
Be clear about what is optional. A package can combine several services even when you came in to discuss one concern. Ask for each part to be explained and priced separately so you can understand the choice. If the recommendation changes on the day, ask for an updated total before agreeing to it.
Put maintenance on the same page
Some results are temporary. The FDA explains that most approved fillers are made from materials the body eventually absorbs, so repeating treatment may be needed to maintain an effect. FDA consumer information on fillers. Ask the clinician what follow-up they anticipate for your particular product and goal, and what happens if you choose not to continue.
Then do the arithmetic with the actual quote. As a purely hypothetical example, a $600 appointment repeated three times totals $1,800 before any other charges. That is not a treatment recommendation or a typical annual schedule. It shows why a per-visit price and a yearly commitment are different numbers.
Count the things outside the invoice
Time matters too. Ask how the expected recovery could affect work, exercise, travel or plans where you want to look a certain way. Add transport and any help you may need. Ask who pays for additional visits or treatment if a complication occurs; do not assume the package includes every eventuality.
If you are comparing a membership with individual appointments, read the terms for unused credit, cancellation and refunds. A discount only has meaning once you understand what you have agreed to buy. Keep a copy of the quote and terms so the conversation does not depend on memory.
Set a ceiling before the consultation
Choose an amount you would be comfortable spending, and tell the clinician if the proposal exceeds it. Ask whether a smaller plan, a different approach or waiting would suit your goals. ASPS advises considering the clinician's experience and your comfort with them alongside the fee. ASPS on choosing a provider.
You do not need to purchase a complete aesthetic plan to make a consultation worthwhile. Take the quote home, compare the same details and decide whether the expected benefit matters enough to you. There is no universal price for looking like yourself, and no treatment total you need to reach.
